南韓中東呼吸症候群冠狀病毒(MERS-CoV)疫情擴散,三星首爾醫院因管理不善成為眾矢之的,三星集團副董事長李在鎔23日在首爾瑞草區的公司總部召開記者會,首度對此鞠躬道歉。

南韓保健福祉部同日通報,MERS死亡人數無新增,但仍新增3起確診病例,感染總人數達到175人,其中逾80例是在三星首爾醫院內感染,因此該院被指責是疫情「第二大源頭」。

李在鎔表示:「三星首爾醫院未能控制感染與病毒擴散,造成社會很大紛擾與不安,我在此鞠躬致歉。」對於因MERS不幸身亡的患者和其家屬、治療中的確診患者和隔離者,他也深表歉意。

李在鎔還說:「我的父親也在(三星首爾醫院)躺了1年以上,我能夠體會病患及家屬感受到的不便」,並稱「疫情結束後,會對醫院進行改革,增加負壓隔離病房數,積極支援疫苗和治療藥物的開發」。
